In the promos of their new show, 'Patiala Babes', Ashnoor Kaur is seen teaching her onscreen mother
Paridhi Sharma how to ride a scooty and withdraw money from an ATM. The two actress seem to share a similar relationship in real life also as we saw Ashnoor helping Paridhi getting the basics of
Instagram right on their recent visit to Delhi. #AshRidhi, as their fans fondly call them, were in the city to promote their new show.
Talking about her Insta teacher, Paridhi says, “Not just in the show, but in the real life too, Ashnoor teaches me a lot. She literally forced me to be active on social media. While our younger generation teaches us to be modern, the older generation keeps them rooted.” Ashnoor adds, “Yeh toh ghar-ghar ki kahaani hai.”
While Ashnoor is a Delhiite, Paridhi says she visits the city only for promotions or to attend family functions. “I visit Delhi once a year, especially during winters. I love Dilli ki sardi. Coming to Delhi and spending time with my cousin is my favourite part of the year,” says Ashnoor. “I rarely come to Delhi, so I hardly get to explore the city. This time, however, Ashnoor has promised to take me to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Qutub Minar and India Gate. And since I am a big time foodie, I want to eat a lot, especially chhole kulche,” adds Paridhi.
At a time when TV is replete with naagins, daayans and saas-bahu dramas, 'Patiala Babes' promises to be different as it shows a daughter’s journey who teaches her mother to be self-reliant. “Our society keeps changing and the older generation should stay up-to-date, or else they will end up feeling left out,” she adds. Paridhi says, “Ours is a very progressive show, with a beautiful story of a woman discovering herself with the help of her daughter. I personally believe that no matter how old you are, you can always take a step towards your independence and learn new things.”
